An adoption fee also helps to ensure that the person or family that takes the dog makes a commitment to the dog - not only emotionally, but also financially. People tend to view the dog as an actual living being, rather than a free, disposable item that way.

The dogs that have been rescued are cured, spayed or neutered and found new homes with the families that like dogs and are eager to have one. The dogs that have been cured, with behavioral mistakes corrected are given for more money that those that had no different problems.
